Robo-One Advanced Techniques: OmniZero 2Narrow walkways & stair climbing both conquered.  OmniZero, created by Maeda-san, is one of the top ROBO-ONE robots and consistently racks up high scores in all the competitions it enters. The ROBO-ONE Special event, held August 6, 2006 in Kawasaki was an excellent chance for Maeda to show off Omnizero and some of the amazing technology that has gone into the creation of the robot. The robot is demonstrated with 2 challenges; Gangway: A narrow walkway with a tough 90 degree turn. Solution? Add optical sensors to the robots feet. Stairway: Stay balanced while climbing six stairs. Solution? Walk across two steps at a time with a new foot sole design.
