Wii:Play minigames with Wiimote

Wii Play Wii Play is a newly released (14/02/07) game from Nintendo that includes a Wiimote controller in the box.

While it is advertised as a game including a free Wiimote - it is more accurate to describe it as a Wiimote with a small tutorial game bundled with it for £5 extra. If you get it for the Wiimote and fancy spending a little extra on Wii:Play it's great and well worth it, but don't buy it expecting to get a brilliant game.

A game with many minigames, you would imagine it to be similar to the great Wii:Sports, but no, it isn't anywhere near as good. The mini-games include Table Tennis, now this would be great if it was done like Tennis on Wii:Sports, but it is simply a tutorial in how to move the controller from side to side, you don't even swing it to hit the ball, it's more like pong than Wii:Sports.

The whole thing is an elaborate tutorial for using the Wiimote controller, and very little more. There is barely any gameplay potential after a couple of plays, although a few of the minigames are better than others, including: Tanks, Shooting Range, Charge (Cow racing) & Billiards, have a bit more playability in multiplayer, but remain very shallow.

Full Mini-Game List:
Billiards
Find Mii
Shooting Range
Pose Mii
Table Tennis
Laser Hockey
Tanks
Fishing
Charge!
