Something new from Video Gaming?

Scarface: The World Is Yours (Rockstar - PS2) Are games getting a bit repetitive? The new Scarface game, Scarface: The World is Yours, looks and plays all too similarly to the GTA series of games, although it is still a great game.

It is probably the reason why the Nintendo Wii has become such a hit, as it offers an entirely new and what seems to be, very playable way to enjoy gaming. The fact some people have been getting into their gaming so much that their Wiimote flies out of their hand across the room, I think is a positive enditement of their product - at least people are really enjoying using it.

The Wiimote - Nintendo's revolutionary controllers. Nintendo have done with the launch of the Wii, making hundreds of thousands of units available to people worldwide in time for Christmas 2006. Conversely, Sony's PlayStation3 launch was abysmal, only in very limited numbers in Japan and the USA. Microsoft's Xbox 360 launched a year earlier than the other 'NextGen' consoles, and so, was the top selling NextGen console for Christmas 2006.

Handheld gaming remains as popular as ever among Sony & Nintendo fans, the PlayStation Portable (PSP) and Nintendo DS are both going strong. The PSP is very good as a portable mp3 & video player, something portable consoles have not done before. Nokia's attempt to bring phones and portable gaming together has had rather limited success in the last few years, maybe Apple will venture further into incorporating games into their iPod & iPhone and crack the market for it..

The consumer electronics maker (Apple) is rolling out games for the iPod and is in talks with EA about games for the forthcoming iPhone
