Xbox 360 Motion Sensitive Controller
A clever American student has come up with a motion sensitive adaptation for the standard wired Xbox 360 controller.
A video has been released on his website showing the finished controller being used for gaming, watch the video below. Gaming fans were noting the lack of a motion sensor controller for the Xbox 360, the only NextGen console to not have one. With the revolutionary Wii controller and PlayStation 3, the Xbox 360 also lacks HD-DVD support in Microsoft's rush to get the console in the shops last year. This inventive guy has shown that it is indeed possible to have a motion sensitive controller that responds to being tilted, so why couldn't Microsoft make one? In his explanation on his website he makes it sound easy, I hope he gets his controller design commissioned by Microsoft and that gamers will see it in the shops soon. He started by taking apart a wired controller to examine its contents, he had been interested in using a accelerometer as a motion sensor and this seemed like the perfect project. A controller was developed connected to a breadboard of circuitry, it is shown in an earlier video on his website. http://www.adamthole.com. For the next step he plans to make a wireless version of his mod, there is an FAQ about the controller on his site at http://www.adamthole.com/?page_id=21. He should be celebrated for his ingenuity, and achieving what Microsoft could not. The inventor has now placed the controller on eBay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290075115504) so now you can bid on the first motion sensitive Xbox 360 controller, currently going for $100.
