iPod Batteries not up to the job?
I'm not for a second saying that mp3 isn't a great advancement in personal entertainment, but iPod's vary in my opinion you do get the benefit of being able to hold a huge selection of your favourite music, and download the latest Podcasts and movies and have the brightest screen on the market (not a good theft deterrent!) but Apple have ignored the fact that none of these things are any good if your battery doesn't last longer than an hour. I've heard many complaints that the battery starts to need charging more and more frequently, or that you have to pay $20 to get it replaced, It has taken some people have had to wait up to six months to have their iPod returned after sending it off for this service, there are do-it-yourself kits as well.
The problem is that Apple decided to fit the iPod with a mobile phone battery. Mobiles aren't designed to last that long, most people get the latest out or at least change every year or so. An iPod playing music continuously for a number of hours will drain the battery quicker than phone calls will on a phone. When I purchased my mp3 player I opted for a cheaper model with a battery I could replace myself for no fee. Email this story to a friend ![]() Add this link to: |
